Narva is a compact border city in northeastern Estonia, a Northern European country in the Baltic Sea region. Estonia is located between Scandinavia and Central Europe and shares borders with Latvia and Russia, making it easily accessible from across Europe.

How to get to Narva

Most international travellers reach Narva via Tallinn, Estonia’s capital and main transportation hub. From Tallinn, there are several convenient and reliable ways to continue your journey to Narva, depending on your preferences for comfort, price, or flexibility.

By train
One of the most convenient options is travelling by train. Trains are operated by Elron and depart from Balti Jaam, Tallinn’s central railway station. The journey to Narva takes approximately two and a half hours and is direct, comfortable, and reliable.

By bus
Buses are another common and often slightly more affordable option. The trip typically takes between three and three and a half hours, depending on traffic conditions. Modern buses usually offer Wi-Fi, power outlets, and comfortable seating. Buses depart from Tallinn Bus Station.

By car
Narva can also be reached by car via the E20 highway, passing through Jõhvi. The drive usually takes around two and a half to three hours under normal conditions. During winter, road conditions may affect travel times, so allowing extra time is recommended.
