As the Covid-19 vaccine deliveries to Estonia have remained smaller than initially planned, the vaccination of university employees may also be delayed until April.
The university has prepared a list of employees who wish to have the Covid-19 vaccine. “We are ready to send the list at the earliest opportunity to the institution organising the vaccination but so far, they have not asked for the list from the university yet,” said Academic Secretary Tõnis Karki. “Therefore, I recommend everyone, who gets an invitation to vaccination from the family physician, or has a chance to get the vaccine through another national mass vaccination plan, to take the opportunity,” he added.
Who to notify if I have got the vaccine already?
If you registered your name to get the vaccine through the university but you have already been vaccinated against Covid-19, please inform the Human Resources Office via this form https://siseveeb.ut.ee/et/covid-19-vaktsiinist-loobumise-vorm. This way we can remove your name from the list of those who want the vaccine.
Who is responsible for organising the vaccination?
Please understand that the University of Tartu does not organise Covid-19 vaccination. The general vaccination plan in Estonia has been worked out by the Covid-19 vaccination expert group formed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the national immunoprophylaxis expert committee.

Explanation
After the UT research fellow of molecular immunology spoke in the ETV programme “Suud puhtaks” on 16 March, the question arose why the students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Medicine are being vaccinated already. This is done to ensure that the teaching of clinical subjects continues at Tartu University Hospital. Tartu University Hospital has laid down a strict vaccination requirement for people who conduct the teaching at the hospital. Furthermore, many medical students have been hired to help out in Estonian hospitals. The vaccination of the students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Medicine is organised by Tartu University Hospital.
