On April 20-22, 2017, Narva College of the University of Tartu holds the annual International Student Research Conference gathering students from Estonia to Azerbaijan. With its seventeen years of tradition, Narva student conference is one of the longest standing student conferences in Estonia. This year for the first time the conference is organised in cooperation with Master’s students of Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies.
40 student from Estonia, Russia, Armenia, Croatia, Turkey, the U.S., Latvia, Azerbaijan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Germany, Austria, Belarus and Ukraine are the selected participants based on their submitted abstracts. The thematic focus fields of the conference are philology, culture, pedagogy, Russian language and culture, public administration, entrepreneurship, Russian and international studies and youth work.
During the two main conference days, April 20 and 21, there are two plenary sessions and altogether twelve parallel sessions. The main working language of the conference is English, except Russian language and culture section.
With initiative of Johan Skytte institute annual conference will be enriched by new section – Russian and International studies. This year for the first time we will have round table discussion on topic “What is the role of civic international cooperation in times of geopolitical tensions?”. As a special guest one of the speakers will be German Ambassador to Estonia Mr. Christoph Eichhorn. Discussion will take place on 20th of April at 16:00, room 200. This event is free and open to everyone.
Narva 17th International Student Research Conference is supported by Estonian Gambling Tax Council and Narva College of the University of Tartu.
